Lime Kiln held their annual Spelling Bee this past week in a Google meet. Congratulations to seventh grader, Kavya Zaveri, Lime Kiln's Spelling Bee champion, after a grueling 9-round competition. The runner up was Tara Vallabha, also a seventh grader, who prevailed after a separate run-off. Kavya's championship word was "celluloid". The Bee also involved such challenges as "abyss", "costive", "incandescent", and "voracious". Fifteen students qualified to compete in the spelling bee by taking a test on a specially designed platform. Kavya will go on to represent Lime Kiln in the Howard County Bee in March. Congratulations to both winners, and to all the hard-working participants in this year's spelling program.
On February 1st, during Leopard Pride Homeroom (10:50am), all of our 6th and 7th grade students will view a presentation that will provide information on course registration for the 2021/22 school year. All of our students are expected to attend Leopard Pride Homeroom every Monday. Please join us in reminding them of the importance of attending, especially on February 1st.
Visit our LKMS website to view our "Screencast Middle School Orientation” hosted by our administration and staff. The orientation provides information and details regarding navigating middle school.

We have many outstanding books checked out from our Media Center. Please take the time to look around your home for any books you have not returned. Lime Kiln offers a "checkout" and "return" service daily between the hours of 8am-12pm, Monday through Friday. Books may be returned and retrieved from the book cart located in the school's Front Office vestibule. If you wish to checkout a new book, please complete this Survey. Hope to see you there!
